Clever Concepts, a web development company based in Paso Robles, California, recently made a large donation to the Charles Paddock Zoo through the non-profit organization, Central Coast Zoo Society in Atascadero, California — a brand new interactive website. Those who visit the site can find everything they need from learning more about the animals and special events, to zoo news, to signing up for newsletters, memberships, or children’s programs like the famous “Zoo Boo.”
Due to the recent revitalization efforts at the Charles Paddock Zoo, Dennis Clevenger, owner and founder of Clever Concepts, decided to make his own contribution by designing and building the new web site. The new site has been operating for a short time, but according to Ken Brokamp, CEO of the Central Coast Zoo Society, “The feedback from our board of directors, our members, and the general public has been overwhelmingly positive. I think I can speak for everyone when I say that we are all very grateful for their generous donation. With it, funds earmarked for a new website can instead be reallocated to current renovations.”
The new web design allows online visitors to learn about each animal at the zoo with fun photos and interesting facts. An online form is available for those who wish to sponsor an animal. Those visitors interested in becoming a zoo member, donating to the zoo, or attending any of the zoo events can now sign up online as well. This creates an added convenience for the public and gives the zoo staff the ability to respond to leads and requests right away. Clever Concepts programmed the website to operate as a customized Content Management System (CMS) – which means, with administrative access, zoo society staff can now easily update all of the content quickly from their own offices. Brokamp remarked, “It’s very convenient. We can change the site on a daily basis if needed and we are pleased that the Clever Concepts team was able to keep the integrity of the original design.”
