Livingston & Haven, an industrial technology provider, was recognized with the High Achiever Award in the Innovation Mastery category by Managing Automation , a Thomas Publishing Company LLC publication. Livingston & Haven received the award during the Progressive Manufacturing Summit Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner held on June 12th at the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas. This is the second year in a row Livingston & Haven has been a winner in the Progressive Manufacturing 50 Awards Program. In 2007, the company was selected as the Progressive Manufacturer of the Year.
Livingston & Haven was selected as a winner in the Innovation Mastery Category for their testing systems, the K-Rig and KD-Rig. Both innovations test vehicle suspension and chassis diagnostics for the racing industry. The success of the initial version of the system, the K-Rig, prompted an entirely different marketing and production methodology that eventually produced the KD-RIG, which in addition to NASCAR, has found applications in open wheel racing and is currently being considered for a variety of more general use applications.
“We consider Managing Automation to be the leader in discussions regarding technology and advancement for manufacturing. To receive yet another very prestigious award is a real honor. We feel very fortunate to be associated with a collection of high performing manufacturers, and look forward working hard to collaborate on future efforts with Managing Automation and its partners,” Bruce McKay, Livingston & Haven Vice President stated.
The awards program recognizes manufacturers that are being progressive in their business, in the management of their operations and in their use of advanced technologies. The Progressive Manufacturing 50 Awards Program selects 50 companies that have achieved distinction in at least one of the eight core disciplines defined by Managing Automation as critical to business success in the years ahead. Out of the 50 winning companies, eight “High Achievers” are selected in each of the core disciplines. These disciplines include: Business Model Mastery, Customer Mastery, Supply Network Mastery, Data & Integration Mastery, Innovation Mastery, Training & Education Mastery, Leadership and Operational Excellence.
Project nominations were reviewed by an independent judging panel chaired by David Brousell, Editor-in-Chief, Managing Automation. Judges evaluated and scored nominated projects based on project scope, business impact, customer impact, technology use and scale. The Progressive Manufacturing High Achievers were the companies receiving the highest total scores in their respective categories.
