Its innovative technology allows users to create video installations using real-time blending and seamless switching between up to 16 inputs. In London, on 16 January 2008, the surprise concert held by the rock group Radiohead was webcast with the help of a VIXID mixer.
The highly versatile VJX16-4 combines the latest technology with excellent sound and image quality. This video mixer is primarily designed for professionals such as video jockeys (VJs), multimedia and visual artists, video-studio managers, producers and directors, event organisers and communication managers. It can be used in video installations in clubs, concert halls, theatres, conference rooms, contemporary art exhibitions and TV studios, among others.
It features a breakthrough innovation in video mixing – a four-video-layer real-time mixing unit, which offers users an innovative and expressive way to mix images. Its also features 14 blending modes, a video assignment system, 42 memorisable effects that can be saved in up to 144 presets, musical instrument digital interface (MIDI) and full audio interactivity.
The VJX16-4 mixer offers excellent connectivity, with 16 video inputs for use with any video source (including DVD players, cameras, VCRs and computers), as well as six video outputs and USB connections. The mixing result is displayed in real time on three independent systems (plasma screen, TV and projector).
The mixer offers high-performance levels, with full-resolution PAL or NTSC, leading-edge video processing, fluidity and extremely low latency. Its portable format means that it can be carried easily between events. It is a powerful yet easy-to-use video tool that is robust and reliable.

VIXID, which is headquartered in Paris, was created in 2004 by four young electronics engineers who wanted to design a video-mixing desk. The company has received support from the Paris Développement and Scientipôle Initiative innovation clusters, as well as from public-sector institutions such as OSEO, the French Innovation Agency, the Ile de France Regional Council and the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP).
