Finnish startup Scred has been incorporated into its own company outside from consultancy firm Fishpool Creations, where it was initially created. Kristoffer Lawson, co-founder in Scred, explains that this was a necessary step to give Scred the independence it needed to grow into an independent venture and offers the whole team a clear goal. It will also benefit Fishpool, which will continue with its successful consultancy business.

Fishpool Creations has, however, invested in the new company along with the founders. They were not willing to talk about exact figures but say the sum offers excellent opportunities to further advance the service. Important new features are due and whole new aspects of the service are to be explored.

One important new feature which was brought forwards during the incorporation process was what Scred calls 'Direct Screding'. This allows users to create and track debts with users who are not members of any of the pools of friends they have created, or who are not even registered members of Scred. Developers state that this has been the most requested feature since Scred was launched and they expect to see a positive viral effect from this.

Since its launch in February Scred has more than quadrupled the amount of registered users and has managed tens of thousands of dollars in transactions, with growth continuing at a healthy rate. It has been mentioned on many IT websites, blogs, magazines and on the TV. It is now recognised as one of the top 3 web services in its field.
