Dr. Marwan Kamal, President of the Philadelphia University said, “The University is making every effort to guarantee that our students are benefiting from an educational environment and a technology rich atmosphere that is practical, innovative and interactive. We believe OFFTEC’s initiative will provide our students with real-life experiences that will prepare them for their future careers.”
Ibrahim Al Jararheh, General Manager of OFFTEC IT Solutions said, “OFFTEC and our partners are delighted to see the Techno Notebook initiative being applied at the Philadelphia University. This opportunity will benefit the University students and their professors by offering them the latest notebook technology and Tablet PCs at attractive prices, establishing an on-campus service center, conducting training and awareness workshops as well as creating internship opportunities.”
Jararheh added "The service center at the Philadelphia University is the third of its kind in the Kingdom with one at the JUST campus and the other in Amman, and we have plans to continue expanding to other universities and private schools.” He continued to say, “The Philadelphia University service center will be managed by trained students and equipped with spare parts to repair any notebook within 24 hours. Students, faculty and employees at the University will enjoy the value of our notebooks because they are slim, light and based on the latest mobile technology, with readily available spare parts.”
OFFTEC IT Solutions launched the Techno Notebook initiative in October 2007 in cooperation with Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST), Intel and Microsoft to provide academic users with high performance Notebooks and Tablet PCs at affordable prices and with financing options.
The Techno Notebook initiative strives to accomplish several goals such as improving students' academic results, reducing pressures on computer labs and administration costs, enhancing educational institutions' academic reputations, bridging the gap of cooperation between public universities and local IT providers, developing students' computer skills and preparing them for future careers.
