Convergint Technologies has partnered with GuardRFID to provide its customers with highly reliable and feature-rich Active Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) solutions. Under the terms of the distribution agreement, Convergint will have access to GuardRFID’s tracking, location and security solutions for the health care market, as well as the ability to deploy such solutions into Convergint’s other vertical markets.
Through its 20 technology centers located across North America, Convergint designs, installs and services electronic security, fire alarm and life safety, and building automation systems. Convergint will deploy the GuardRFID technology initially through its office in Atlanta, Ga.
As one of the security industry’s fastest growing integrators, Convergint partners with industry-leading manufacturers to deliver maximum value in its integrated security solutions – including IP video surveillance, access control, smartcard management and more. The revolutionary GuardRFID technology offers the smallest RFID locator tag on the market and the first disposable solution, thereby minimizing deployment and maintenance efforts and lowering the total cost of ownership.
“GuardRFID’s products provide us with the means to deliver enhanced security and safety solutions to our customers and serves as a big step towards broadening our commitment to provide the best and most effective solutions to a wide spectrum of industries throughout our growing North American customer base,” said Convergint Vice President Tony Varco, Security Division.
For Convergint health care customers, the partnership means the company can exclusively utilize GuardRFID’s best-of-breed tracking and locator technology to provide comprehensive protection for infants, patients and assets.
“We now have the ability to immediately impact several verticals, especially health care,” said Vice President Ken LaChance, Business Development, Atlanta office. “With our ability to integrate proven IP video and access control security solutions with GuardRFID’s locator technology, we now offer solutions that holistically secure and protect infants and patients. This technology also has the ability to streamline a facility’s operations and enhance its bottom-line by tracking and locating critical medical equipment.”
“The agreement with Convergint represents the first step in GuardRFID’s growth, while providing an opportunity for us to showcase our new generation of Active RFID technologies and solutions," said GuardRFID President and CEO Zahir Abji. “We are excited to be collaborating with one of the leading system integrators in North America. By combining GuardRFID’s leading edge products with Convergint’s superior building systems integration capabilities, Convergint has the capability to provide its customers with highly reliable and feature rich Active RFID solutions.”
