Cat Friends Helping Friends (CFHF) is a new charitable organization whose aim is to provide financial assistance to persons who participate in the Cat Blogosphere. Cat Friends Helping Friends organization was founded by several members of the Cat Blogosphere to provide financial assistance to persons who participate in the Cat Blogosphere.

The money raised by the organization will go towards veterinary expenses or other costs associated with caring for a domestic animal when deemed necessary and appropriate by the Board of Directors.

Cat Friends Helping Friends has operated informally since the inception of the Cat Blogosphere in April 2006. Under the informal operations, members of the Cat Blogosphere frequently hold contests and auctions amongst themselves to raise money for members in need of financial assistance. The assistance may be to provide for necessary veterinary or human medical expenses. It may also be to help provide food for the pets of humans who have run into a financial decline due to loss of employment or a number of other reasons.

Cat Friends Helping Friends is in the process of applying for its 501(c)(3) status. Donations made prior to the 501(c)(3) status being official will still be tax deductible.
