Proavio to Debut New Line of 4Gb Fibre Channel Storage Solutions at NAB
Proavio, U.S.A., a leading developer of storage systems and tools for digital media production, has announced today that it will be exhibiting a completely new line of 4Gb Fibre Channel storage solutions designed to accommodate the needs of growing digital cinema storage requirements. Building on popularity of it’s award-winning SCSI RAID controller technology, Proavio has developed a next generation RAID controller that raises the industry bar for maximum performance and features. By leveraging over 10 years of development experience and utilizing the maximum capabilities of the RAID engine, Proavio has created the first large-format Fibre Channel array that exploits the full potential of a typical 4Gb Fibre equipped desktop computer. “We are very excited to announce the first affordable 4Gb product that simplifies the deployment process and offers full advantage of the native MPIO (Multi-Path I/O) capabilities found in Mac OSX” said Luis Rodriguez, Director of Marketing for Proavio. With the addition of native MPIO support, users can easily achieve sustained data rates in excess of 600MB/s with RAID-5 parity protection, ideal for uncompressed 4:4:4 HD video, digital intermediate and high resolution visual effects creation.
