TeamExpand, a developer of products complimentary to Microsoft Visual Studio Team System (VSTS), announced the general availability of TX Looker, a software application add-in for Microsoft Outlook targeted at software development organizations standardizing on the Visual Studio .Net development environment. The product was launched today at VSLive!, a premier Visual Studio developers conference, in San Francisco, CA.
TX Looker allows both developers and non-technical staff to access Microsoft’s Visual StudioTeam System (VSTS) through the Microsoft Outlook interface, without having to purchase separate licenses of Microsoft Team Explorer, a software application typically used to access Visual Studio Team System. The new add-in improves team performance and productivity, eliminates double entry, and makes software development projects more visible and predictable.
“In order to use both MS Outlook and VSTS, a developer should switch between the interfaces repeatedly and handle the same amount of tasks in these two systems simultaneously,” said Leo Matveev, President of SearchInform Technologies, Inc., a developer of enterprise search solutions. “TX Looker solved this problem for our company.”
“TX Looker for MS Outlook helps project managers and developers get rid of the odd actions,” commented Andrei Yurkevich, CTO of TeamExpand. “At TeamExpand, our goal is make TX Looker a must-have tool for organizations standardizing on Visual Studio .Net development environment.”
TX Looker features:
1. Add, edit, and delete tasks (Work Items)
2. Report bugs and issues
3. Report time spent on Work Items
4. Link e-mails and meetings to Work Items (manually and automatically)
5. Receive notifications about new assignments and events in real time
TX Looker benefits:
1. Improve productivity and reduce learning curve
2. Monitor employee activity in real time
3. Provide team members with a single interface instead of two disparate environments
4. Accelerate development cycles
Who can benefit from using TX Looker:
1. Managers and supervisors
2. Non-programming staff of project teams, such as copywriters, graphic designers, QA engineers
3. Software developers who don't use Visual Studio IDE (for instance, developers working with non-Microsoft programming languages, such as Java, PHP, Python, Delphi, Ruby, etc.)
The TX Looker license is priced at $99, per seat, per year. A 60-day free trial version of TX Looker is available at the official TeamExpand website
