Ann Arbor Civic Ballet Presents the Second Annual Dance Michigan

Ann Arbor, MI, United States, 03/27/2008 - On April 19, dancers will join together to perform works by both experienced and emerging choreographers that reflect the diversity and creativity in dance.
Ann Arbor Civic Ballet announces the 2nd annual Dance Michigan: Choreographers’ Showcase. On April 19, dancers will join together to perform works by both experienced and emerging choreographers that reflect the diversity and creativity in dance. Styles performed will range from Ballet to Belly Dance.
Participating artists come from companies, colleges and studios from throughout Michigan. Groups participating include: Ann Arbor Civic Ballet; IDT, an affiliate of the department of dance at Hope College; Lansing Chamber Dance; UM Dance Department; Unveiled Dance Company and more!
The program will take place on Saturday, April 19 at Saline High School Ellen Ewing Center for Performing Arts. Tickets are $10, 5 and under are free and are available at the door or online.
About Ann Arbor Civic Ballet
The Ann Arbor Civic Ballet is a non-profit educational organization which is a creative force in the arts of this community. Since 1954 they have been providing opportunities for local dancers to display their craft to the public. AACB has been instrumental in establishing professional ballet in Ann Arbor. Not only does the Ann Arbor Civic Ballet perform several times a year, but it has been responsible for the first local appearances of many well-known companies. As a group, the members of AACB are dedicated to enriching the community by providing opportunities for performers and public to enjoy quality dance experiences. AACB was the first state chartered ballet group in Michigan and sixth in the United States and exists to:

• allow members to benefit from the physical and mental training that comes from the discipline of ballet.
AACB makes its home at the Sylvia Studio of Dance. The company gives performances at many local venues and lecture demonstrations are available for schools, hospitals, senior centers and other community institutions. In addition to its local performances, the Ann Arbor Civic Ballet has made appearances in other Michigan cities and surrounding states.
Membership in AACB is open to all.
