The Yakima SwingDaddy hitch bike rack is compatible with 2 inch receiver hitches and is the premium model that offers swing-away functionality enabling the user to swing the bike rack, even with 4 bikes loaded, completely off to the side to access the rear of the vehicle. The Yakima FlipSide hitch bike rack is compatible with both 2 inch and 1 1/4 inch receiver hitches and offers an all-new technological innovation that allows the bike rack to flip down to either side when a knob is pulled. The Yakima DoubleDown series of hitch racks, including the Yakima DoubleDown 5, Yakima DoubleDown 4 and Yakima DoubleDown 2 , are economy level models that are compible with both 2 inch and 1 1/4 inch receiver hitches and offer knob releasing tilt-down out of the way accessibility to the rear of a vehicle.
With the exception of the Yakima Flip Side, these new 2008 mast-style hitch bike racks all replace discontinued models from Yakima Racks. The Yakima Swing Daddy replaces the Yakima FullSwing; Yakima Double Down 5 replaces the Yakima KingPin 5; Yakima DoubleDown 4 replaces the Yakima KingPin 4; Yakima DoubleDown 2 replaces the Yakima KingPin 2. Additional products available once again for 2008 are the Yakima SlicROC 4 for 2 inch receiver hitches, the Yakima BigHorn 4 for 1 1/4 inch receiver hitches and the Yakima BigHorn 4 for 2 inch receiver hitches.
Additional products scheduled for release later in 2008 are the all-new Yakima platform-style hitch bike rack systems. These products include the Yakima HoldUp for 2 inch hitches, the Yakima HoldUp for 1 1/4 inch hitches and the Yakima StickUp that is compatible with both 2 inch and 1 1/4 inch hitches. Platform-style hitch bike racks offer additional ease of loading and transport due to their low positioning and quick ratcheting securing features.
