New Virtual Campuses Transform the Campus Tour
University Parent Media and concept3D today introduced a new virtual campus tour that will change the way parents and students prepare for college visits.
University Parent Media currently works in partnership with higher education institutions across the country improving parent relations. The virtual campus tours will be the latest addition to the tool suite that includes print guides, Websites, and e-newsletters.
This new way of viewing a school will help students and parents better understand the campus area and access information relevant to their interests. Families and students will now understand their college community like never before.
The partnership between University Parent Media and concept3D will allow colleges and universities access to this cutting-edge technology. The two Boulder-based companies will be working jointly to help colleges and universities augment their parent relations programs through communication tools. concept3D uses a unique approach to the design of virtual tours, using the Google Earth™ and Google Maps™ platforms to deliver an interactive experience to users. These platforms allow the design team at concept3D to incorporate 3-D imagery, photos, hyperlinks, and flash animation, resulting in a comprehensive campus experience.
“Unlike traditional virtual tours, multimedia virtual tours allow users to navigate entire campuses in 3-D, explore local businesses, view streaming web content, and educate themselves about their school of interest. University Parent Media is breaking ground by adding 3-D and other integrated marketing services to their rich publication,” says Oliver Davis, CEO & Co-Founder of concept3D.
concept3D, Inc. will also be joining University Parent Media at the annual NASPA conference in Boston. NASPA, the member organization of student affairs administrators in higher education, is the leading voice for student affairs administration, policy, and practice.
Parent relations is a hot topic in higher education, and the ‘helicopter parent’ phenomenon is grabbing headlines. University Parent Media is committed to connecting communities and offering solutions for schools and parents to help find the key to promoting parents as partners in student success.
