This solution enables companies to leverage AirClic's hosted platform to deploy and manage multiple applications to meet the needs of their customers.
“AirClic's products are hosted, which eliminates the requirement for expensive IT infrastructure and allows for fast deployments in as little as two weeks; and due to the technology architecture, solutions can be efficiently maintained and upgraded with no down time,” says Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Samir Sakpal. “With these features, businesses in the transportation and distribution vertical can meet their entire mobile track and trace needs with a single platform.”
Transportation companies that have key customers with their own unique requirements can use AirClic MP 5 to create rapidly customized applications for any specific customer.
These application workflows are downloaded to workers' mobile devices over-the-air and can be modified remotely without requiring reinstallation of software. The field worker is guided through the customer's business processes, eliminating confusion, mistakes and paperwork. Managers can view real-time data in map and/or tabular views, and view real-time status or full history of their users or tracked items.
AirClic recently added further functionality to its AirClic MP 5 platform to meet customers' needs. For instance, AirClic’s MP 5.4 version has an advanced route management system. Through AirClic's Mobile Exchange capability, users can now request a large amount of structured data from their handset and use it for validation. For example, a mobile user can enter a route number and have the manifest for that day returned to his or her handset, ensuring each stop is completed accurately.
AirClic’s MP 5.4 also uses a Bluetooth signature pad to capture electronic signatures. Further, it supports a continually growing list of devices including BlackBerry 7100i, 7130e, 8800 and 8830, SCP-7050 by Sanyo, Sony Ericsson K310i, K320i, K510i, K610i, W200i and W810i, and Symbol MC7095.
