Chicago, IL, United States, 2008/03/20 - Convergint Technologies Chief Executive Officer Dan Moceri will address the convergence of physical security, building automation and information technology systems at the ISC West Conference, April 4-7 in Las Vegas.
Convergint Technologies Chief Executive Officer Dan Moceri will present his views on the convergence of physical security, building automation and information technology systems at the upcoming ISC West Conference and Exhibition. Convergence is a widely debated topic is on the minds of many industry executives today. Promoted as the security industry’s largest tradeshows, ISC West is scheduled for April 4-7 at the Sands Expo and Convention Center in Las Vegas.
Moceri is co-founder of Convergint, North America’s fastest growing systems integrator. He will be part of an expert panel that explores the challenges and benefits of converged building systems, “Uniting Building and Network Access,” scheduled for Wednesday, April 2 at 11 a.m. Moceri’s 30 years of experience in the electronic security, fire alarm and life safety, and building automation industry qualify him as an expert to discuss the factors driving demand for convergence.
“Executives responsible for security and IT are challenged with integrating their organizations’ physical and technological systems that protect people, property and data,” says Moceri. “Solving their building automation needs has become increasingly complex because modern security systems rely heavily on the IT network. Traditionally, these systems and their respective staffs, strategies and budgets were separate. Today, they have to be merged to be effective.”
Several years ago Convergint recognized that the security industry would rapidly migrate to network-based systems. At that time the company began hiring professionals well-versed in IT systems. Convergint also launched an aggressive technology certification program so their staff would not only be knowledgeable in IT protocols, but also aware of industry compliance and government regulations that impact these IP-based systems.
The ISC West panel will explore how organizations can implement converged security solutions that are scalable, cost effective and resilient against downtime. “The demand for convergence is accelerating as executives require IP-based security systems that remain highly available – downtime just isn’t an option,” Moceri states.
