Heartland Information Services, a full-service medical transcription company, has appointed Brett Himes to Chief Operating Officer, a position new to the organization. Himes will assume the position immediately while continuing his role as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Prior to joining the company in August 2007, Himes was Executive Vice President and CFO of SourceOne Healthcare Technologies. He spent seven additional years in the health care distribution industry with the Medical-Surgical and Pharmaceutical divisions of McKesson, where he was Vice President of Finance of the Supply Management Business and then Senior Vice President and CFO of the Medical-Surgical Business. Prior to entering the health care industry, Himes worked for Ernst & Young and was the founder of a multi-location document imaging service company. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Harvard and is a Certified Public Accountant.
