On Monday February 11, the Voice Over industry took a moment to recognize some of their own with the announcement of the finalists for the 2008 Voicey Awards.
Jason Clark, a professional voice over talent based in Las Vegas, was selected as a finalist for the "Best New Voice" category.
Clark has quickly garnered a significant amount of attention in an industry that is notoriously hard to break into. He credits much of this early success to the phenomenal mentoring and support he has received from his Los Angeles based voice over coach Nancy Wolfson of Braintracks Audio. Wolfson worked with Clark to sharpen and develop his unique delivery, which has been described as reassuring, playful, vulnerable, real, and honest. Clark commented, "I strive to be a voice your audience can relate to, a style that is very effective with modern consumers."
Clark is no stranger to receiving recognition for his commercial work. At the age of 16, Clark received the South Carolina Broadcasters Association award for "Best Commercial, Promo, or PSA" for a commercial that he wrote, produced and voiced.
The Voicey Awards recognize voice actors for their contributions and efforts over the year in the voice over industry. Finalists and winners are selected by a distinguished panel of voice over industry luminaries. Winners will be announced via the VOX Talk Podcast on February 21, 2008.
