On the heels of winning a spot in the Recording Conservatory of Austin's "Top Unsigned Artist" competition, sultry singer-songwriter Erin Ivey will be performing in San Marcos this weekend.
With fans and journalists singing her praises, Austin's underground mistress of downtempo folk pop finished recording her first full-length album, The 11th Floor, almost one year ago in Portland, Oregon. Since then, Ivey has performed for audiences nationwide and recently resettled in Austin to record two new albums simultaneously.
"One is an EP of new originals," says Ivey, "and the other is an electronic project with a producer from Atlanta. They're very different and I love being in the studio, but I do miss playing for a live audience. That's different every night."
Heading into SXSW season, Ivey will bring her angelic voice and notorious stage banter to a rare, intimate show at The Coffee Pot on Saturday evening at 7pm. The show is free, but space is limited.
Come grab a latte with a friend and settle in to a cozy performance of scrumptious music by an irresistible artist.
