At this year’s CeBIT trade show in Hanover (4–9 March 2008), ATEN International, a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced connectivity solutions, will showcase its comprehensive range of innovative KVM and video solutions at booth D70, Hall 12. ATEN will use the show to unveil world’s first LCD KVM switch featuring fingerprint recognition; the next generation of its KVMPTM (peripheral) switches with OSD support; a new wireless presentation system that generates a wireless conference environment for multiple notebooks, as well as the latest in HDMI video switches and video splitters.
Confirming the growing importance of administration costs, server room savings and green IT efficiencies, ATEN focuses on product innovations and unique technology features for efficient, cost-effective and state-of-the-art connectivity solutions. To demonstrate firsthand the functionality of its products, ATEN will run live demo centers at its booth. The demo sections will include, amongst others:
Enterprise KVM Solutions
CL5716, the 16-port PS/2-USB LCD KVMP™ Switch is the world’s first LCD KVM switch to feature Fingerprint Recognition for environments where enhanced security is required. It supports dual interface for both server and console. In addition, CL5716 provides a hot-pluggable port for connecting an external USB mouse. This PS/2-USB LCD KVMPTM Switch also has an 8-port model (CL5708) available.
CN8000 KVM on the NET™, an add-on remote server management solution, which allows administrators to remotely access KVM switches and servers via LAN, WAN or the Internet. This advanced over-IP model features dual interface support for both server and console. In addition, the Virtual Media support enables users to remotely transfer out-of-band data through the connected switch to any server and perform diagnostic tests, download files and install programs or operating system patches directly from a Virtual Media connection.
KM2508 / KM2516 Matrix KVM Switch, a 2-console, 8/16-port Matrix KVM switch, that features Virtual Media support and allows users to manage up to 512 servers or 4096 servers when installed in a cascade connection.
SOHO KVM Solution
In addition to its enterprise-class unique solutions showcase, ATEN will present the next generation of its KVMP™ switches for the SOHO market at CeBIT 2008. The new 2- and 4-port switches, CS1732B and CS1734B are the first SOHO products to feature On Screen Display (OSD). In effect, the solutions allow users to control two or four multiplatform computers from a single keyboard, monitor, and mouse; provide dual interface functionality for both PS/2 and USB environments; offer a built-in 2-port USB 2.0 hub for peripheral expansion, and audio ports for a rich sound experience. As the KVM, USB, and audio focus can be switched independently, users can listen to sound files on one PC while working with the applications on another system, controlling USB peripherals or playing a video game.
Wireless Presentation System
KE8220 Virtual VNC Console, a wireless presentation system that upgrades existing projectors and generates a wireless conference environment for multiple notebooks. The KE8220 provides remote access to any computer on the network via LAN, WAN or the internet, real-time display on a monitor or projector, and pushes presentations from remote computers to the KE8220 for real-time meetings or trainings between local and remote locations.
For the video solutions, ATEN will announce its latest HDMI video switches and video splitters that are fully compatible with the HDMI 1.3b standard.
If you’re attending CeBIT, the solutions are must-see - to fix an appointment to see them working live, or to talk to an ATEN representative at CeBIT 2008 (Hall 12, Booth D70), please contact Sharon Munday at KPR Global Communications Ltd.
About KVM Switches – An Essential Server Management Device
A KVM (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) switch is an advanced, hardware-based solution that allows centralized access to multiple computers easily and conveniently from a single keyboard, monitor, and mouse. A KVM switch is useful in an extensive range of environments, suitable for SOHO users, small and medium businesses, and large corporations. Fundamentally, a KVM switch allows server rooms and data centers to optimize rack space in the IT environment, reducing costs and the clutter of keyboards, monitors and mice. Additional benefits include savings in energy consumption, server racks, cabinets, and floor space. Since a KVM switch provides access to a number of computers from a central location, IT professionals are no longer running from one server to the next, thereby streamlining workflow and increasing productivity. To meet the ever-developing needs of the globalized economy and the Internet, KVM solutions now have over-IP functionality for remote management capability that better fulfills the demands of corporations who need to manage multiple server rooms worldwide.
