With its wide geographical boundaries, 28 per cent of the world's population and 7.2 per cent of the global purchasing power, CEE is happy hunting grounds for the conferencing market.

New analysis from Frost & Sullivan (enterprisecommunications.frost.com), Central and Eastern European Conferencing Services: A Market Insight, finds that the CEE region, with its growing economy, improved ICT infrastructure and increased number of global companies, presents significant opportunities for conferencing service providers that want to extend their operation to other parts of Europe after setting up base in Western Europe.

If you are interested in a virtual brochure, which provides manufacturers, end users, and other industry participants with an overview of the Central and Eastern Europe Conferencing Services, then send an email to Joanna Lewandowska, Corporate Communications, at joanna.lewandowska[.]frost.com, with your full name, company name, title, telephone number, fax number and email address. Upon receipt of the above information, an overview will be sent to you by email.

An increasing number of countries in the CEE region are gaining accession to the European Union, which is helping them to strengthen their economies. With greater inflow of investment to many CEE countries and a rising number of U.S. companies setting up base here, there is heightened demand for technologies that can support collaboration and communication among CEE countries, the corporate headquarters and other global offices.

"Although conferencing services is now widely recognised in Western Europe as vital tool for cutting travel costs, reducing carbon dioxide emissions and increasing business productivity, these services suffer from low customer awareness in CEE," says Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Prarthana Somal. "This is due, in part, to the relatively inadequate investment in the telecommunication sector, lack of need for conferencing solutions and the absence of service providers willing to invest in promoting its capabilities."

CSPs have to take stock of the high degree of local language integration, support and ease-of-use demanded by customers. U.S. and European participants have often been hindered in their market entry plans in the CEE region due to the need to invest in market education.

CSPs can revise their market entry strategies by selling their services through local partners in the region, for starters, as it will supply the need for strong regional language integration and support.

"CSPs can test conferencing services market water in the region by firstly through local partnerships and then enter the market by setting up regional offices in the country," notes Somal. "They can also achieve better saleability by innovating and offering integrated services or new features over simple audio, video and web conferencing services."

With greater awareness, affordability and ease-of-use, conferencing solutions are likely to find substantial uptake in the CEE, especially among small- and medium-sized companies.

Central and Eastern European Conferencing Services: A Market Insight is part of the Conferencing & Collaboration Growth Partnership Service programme, which also includes research in the following markets: audio conferencing service providers, video conferencing endpoints and infrastructure, and unified communications and collaboration services and applications.
