The world’s largest chain of ice cream specialty stores is spreading the love with six decadent chocolate offerings including new SuperFudge Truffle ice cream, new Chocolate Indulgence Cake, and new Chocolate Covered Strawberry Sundae. The delicious treats are only available for a limited time and are in-store through February 17, 2008.
As America’s favorite neighborhood ice cream shop, Baskin-Robbins set out to find Americans’ preferences and favorite ways to celebrate two popular and timely events, New Year’s and Valentine’s Day. The Love Chocolate survey, conducted with Insight Express, polled a random nationwide sampling of 1,000 adults over age 18.* The survey highlights Americans’ views of the New Year and the season of love, uncovering interesting statistics about the simplicity of these winter events.
Sweet and Simple Statistics
Resolutions are always a hot topic in January, but according to the survey, 65 percent of Americans say they do not make resolutions. Among the few who do, 28 percent keep their resolution for only one day. So instead of making broken promises, rejoice and celebrate the New Year with chocolate and love!
The survey also shows Americans stay true to tradition when it comes to Valentine’s Day, showing their love in simple ways. Almost 50 percent of people will woo their loved one with a traditional dinner and more than 30 percent will buy chocolates. Simple gifts from the heart do not require a lot of money, which is why 36 percent of Americans plan to spend only $20 to $50 on their sweetheart.
Even when hectic days make emails and text messages the easiest and most popular ways to communicate, almost 90 percent of people polled plan to wish their loved one a happy Valentine’s Day in person. With the growth of wireless communication and emphasis on expensive novelties, this survey shows that love still conquers all. Simple treats delivered by a special someone is the perfect way to celebrate love without the unnecessary bells and whistles. In fact, 30 percent of people polled do not want a Valentine’s Day gift this year.
