Vignette, a leading provider of Next-Generation Web solutions, today announced it has appointed Dick Cahill as the new general manager for EMEA, effective immediately. Based at Vignette’s EMEA headquarters in Maidenhead, UK, he will be responsible for managing the company’s operations in region.
Cahill has 25 years sales and management experience in the enterprise software and services sector. Prior to joining Vignette, he was executive vice president, worldwide sales and EMEA general manager for MRO Software, Inc. (now part of IBM). Under his leadership, the company grew license revenue by 150 per cent over an 18-month period.
Before MRO, Cahill was at BMC Software where he was vice president of worldwide sales, services and support for its Service Management Business Unit (Remedy). Prior to his worldwide role he was general manager for Remedy in EMEA during which time revenue from the region grew substantially.
Cahill has also held senior management positions at Siemens, IBM and ROLM Communications Inc. He is a graduate of Boston State College and holds a degree in Business Management.
