Dr. Palma Ingles holds a Doctorate of Anthropology from the University of Florida and is also a professional photographer. She began her Amazon exploration as the documentary photographer for a group studying the medicinal plants of an indigenous people in Ecuador. As a cultural anthropologist Dr. Ingles has conducted research in Peru and Brazil on medicinal plants. She has studied the sustainable use of rainforest products and the impact of tourism on the indigenous tribes of the Amazon.
