Time Warner Cable, the nation’s second-largest cable television operator, today announced that since arriving in Western New York, it has contributed over $900,000 in financial grants and in-kind support to non-profit organizations in the area. Time Warner Cable concentrates its local giving on educating children and fostering the arts. Over the past year, Time Warner Cable has selected many needy organizations throughout Western New York to generate strategic partnerships and enhance the communities in which it does business.
“As a local company, Time Warner Cable believes that community service is more than just a buzzword. Not only is Time Warner Cable a leading local employer, but we are also a leader in giving back to the community,” stated Gordon Harp, President, Time Warner Cable, Buffalo Division. “Since our company both creates art through movies, music and television, and delivers it through cable and the internet, we feel it is important to cultivate art at all levels. In 2008, we aim to increase our contributions and grow our partnerships with worthy organizations.”
Time Warner Cable has outlined its recent corporate contributions of both cash and in-kind donations in a new brochure, “Connections to the Community.” The brochure highlights key partnerships of the last year and also explains criteria for those seeking support from Time Warner Cable. Copies of the brochure can be found at any of Time Warner Cable’s 13 payment centers and has been mailed to all potential partners including non-profit organizations and schools. Requests for corporate giving should come through Time Warner Cable’s website.
