The 64-bit architecture of Rapidform XOS 64 and XOR 64 allows processing of nearly unlimited number of 3D point clouds on Windows x64 operating systems.

According to Calvin J. Hur, INUS Technology's Vice President of Marketing and Global Sales, "32-bit applications are limited to 2 gigabytes of RAM, which translates to roughly 30 million data points. With the 64-bit architecture of XOS 64 and XOR 64, it is possible to use up to 128 gigabytes of RAM. This offers Rapidform users the convenience of processing extremely large 3D scanner files."

Hur cites automotive styling as an example of the advantages of 64-bit processing. "There can be 100 scans, or more, to capture all of the subtle details in a clay model of a car body. With XOS 64 and XOR 64, all of these scans are processed in a single operation. When using 32-bit versions, our clients are likely to process one-third of the scans at a time to avoid exceeding the two gigabyte limit." Rapidform XOS 64 and XOR 64 provide point cloud processing, mesh creation and NURBS surface generation. Rapidform XOR 64 adds powerful parametric model creation and liveTransfer™ to leading CAD solid modeling packages.

Rapidform XOV 64, which will be released in Early 2008, provides a comprehensive set of inspection and quality tools. Rapidform XOS 64, XOR 64 and XOV 64 require a computer with a 64-bit processor and either Windows XP x64 or Windows Vista x64.
