Brisbane muso Tyrone Noonan (also of george and palimpsest) met ex-Queensland muso, and country star Mark O’Shea while writing and recording in Nashville earlier this year.
The pair hit it off immediately as they had both spent time in the Darling Downs country town of Dalby – the place where Mark had grown up, and where Tyrone had undertaken his journalism cadetship (and therefore awarded honorary “Dalbyarian” status).
And so, with Mark heading home for Xmas, the pair have decided to combine forces for a special show, performing both solo and together in a truly one-night-only performance.
Tyrone is fresh from an extensive east coast solo tour (the Heavy Soul tour) with fellow singer songwriters Paul Greene and Karl Broadie and has now completed his upcoming full-length debut album (produced in the US), while Mark has been busy touring and building his sizeable fan base in the US.

After 2 critically acclaimed albums, a string of top 40 hits in both the country and pop charts, numerous national tours, acting roles on TV, and a catalogue of songs well into the 100s, Mark O’Shea has finally arrived...
At 16, Mark was spotted by the head of a record label and signed on the spot. It’s now 12 years later and a lot has happened since then. At 18, Mark released his debut album “None Of The Above”, produced by industry stalwart Mark Moffat (Tim Finn, Yothu Yindi), and yielding #1 hit “World Weary Heart” along with a string of top five singles. It also saw Mark receive 2 Golden Guitars for Best New Talent and Video of the Year.
At 19, Mark was invited to Nashville to perform as part of an ABC Music/Sony Music showcase to industry heavyweights. O’Shea was outstanding and the potential for him in America was extremely evident. But Mark’s album had only just been released in Australia and he returned home to fulfill his touring commitments for the next few years, performing with artists like John Farnham, Keith Urban, The Screaming Jets and James Reyne.
At 21, Mark diversified by taking up acting and landed various roles including Channel 9’s Water Rats. However, music was always at the forefront of his mind and he continued writing songs and developing as a serious musician (playing guitar, piano, bass and keyboards) and as a budding producer.
At 22, frustrated by the Australian music industry’s reluctance to embrace his “crossover” sensibilities he decided to form a band (with brother John O’Shea & Adam Ray) and perform under the moniker of ZINC. The band soon signed with an American agent (Geoffrey Schuhkraft – Little River Band, The Nelsons) and a US deal to Trauma Records (No Doubt, Bush) was not far behind. ZINC relocated to LA and selected producer Charles Fisher (Savage Garden, Radio Birdman), and the debut album “MAKINGSENSEOFMADNESS” saw three singles in the ARIA charts, including “The Morning After”, which hit #22 on the Pop Chart. The band toured relentlessly, performing with acts such as Switchfoot, Hanson and Shannon Noll.
Mark’s songs have been covered by artists as diverse as Ron Moss and Jake Nikolai and his extensive catalogue is ever increasing. While the band is currently taking an indefinite break, Mark is working harder than ever. Having experienced success in both country and pop/rock genres, with his previous releases, his new solo material is the perfect amalgamation of the two. His lyrics are honest and sincere and the songs are melodic and memorable. And if his legions of dedicated fans are anything to go by, his next solo album is set to be his most successful to date!

As co-singer and instrumentalist for multi-platinum selling Australian jazz/rock/pop combo george, Tyrone Noonan released a #1 debut album (double platinum), won an ARIA award, performed to 1.8 billion people (the Rugby World Cup Opening Ceremony), conducted sell-out tours of Australia, UK, Ireland and Japan and supported world-class artists as diverse as Macy Gray, Jewel and Tori Amos, the latter as solo support for her last sold-out Australian tour.
Faced with george on an extended break, Tyrone immersed himself in the industry as a promoter, producer, DJ, film/theatre composer, musical/cabaret performer and released/toured a top 10 AIR indie chart release (jazz combo Palimpsest) before embarking on his long-awaited solo career.
In 2007 Tyrone has represented his state of Queensland at the A&R Worldwide Musexpo conference and the Oz City Song Cycle showcase in Los Angeles, performed at The State Premier's Queensland Advance Expatriate Awards at the Rockefeller Centre in New York, has featured in Billboard Magazine’s Underground performance/interview series and produced his debut full-length album with Paul Peterson (Prince, Stevie Wonder, Steve Miller, Lionel Richie, The Beach Boys etc) and mix engineer Steve Hodge (Grammy winning-producer, Flyte Tyme Studios Chief Engineer 1986-2003 - Janet and Michael Jackson, TLC, George Michael).
