Hawkin’s Bazaar, the online store that offers a unique and extensive range of unusual toys, gifts, gadgets and curiosities has turned to AffiliateFuture to help them increase Christmas sales through an affiliate marketing programme. Despite the toy store going online in 1990, this is the first online advertising campaign ever run. Until now, sales have primarily been driven by word of mouth, search and from its loyal mail order customers moving online.
Hawkin’s will use AffiliateFuture’s affiliate network to drive sales through a series of online banners and text links. Affiliates who sign up for the deal stand to earn up to 10% commission on all sales from the stocking filling store.
Sophie Williams, marketing manager at Hawkins Bazaar, comments, “Until recently we had relied on search and direct mail to our mail order customers to drive online sales, however, with the recent rise in popularity of affiliate networks, we felt we’d be missing a trick not to investigate. We’re learning as we go along to be honest, however, we have been really impressed by how little effort and investment it has taken from our part and it is already starting to pay off. In a two day trial period we had over three hundred orders from the network.”
