Al Masaood Automobiles, exclusive dealers for Nissan and Infiniti range of vehicles in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain hosted an exclusive Fleet Owners and Corporate Customer Launch Function for four new models in the Nissan line up.
The Launch event was held on the 11th of November’07 at the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi. Senior management representatives of Al Masaood Automobiles and Abdulilah Wazni, Brand Manager of Nissan Middle East Regional Office were in attendance.
The all new 2008 Altima, Qashqai, Xterra and Navara Double Cab Pick Up were unveiled to a select audience of Fleet Owners and Corporate customers accompanied by special Lighting and Visual effects. The Launch event was well attended and customer response and reaction to the four new models was extremely encouraging.
Speaking at the occasion Mr. David Radcliffe, General Manager, Al Masaood Automobiles commented “Altima, I am sure, needs no introduction and has over the period of time, consistently proven itself on Durability, Quality and Reliability factors making it an alternative to ordinary cars and a favorite choice amongst our customers within the region.”
He further added “Nissan’s 2008 SUV lineup for the Middle East underlines Nissan’s supremacy in the category and we are introducing three new models to the region’s biggest range of SUV options. We are pleased to expand this line up with new products that boast the Nissan quality and innovation. The Xterra, Qashqai, and Navara now join the established members of the Nissan stable: the Armada, Murano, X Trail, Pathfinder and Patrol. We are confident that the new models will equally appeal to Individual customers as well as customers from the Fleet segment”.
Altima
The 2008 YM Altima is running ahead of the competition winning awards and accolades along the way. It recently received the Highest Ranking in the Midsize Car Segment of the J.D. Power and Associates 2007 APEAL Study and was also awarded the AutoPacific 2007 Vehicle Satisfaction Award for Premium Mid-Size Cars in the US.
The new Altima is available with a long list of advanced technology – including Nissan’s new generation Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), advanced all-new “D-platform”, Intelligent Key with Push Button Ignition, built-in Bluetooth Hands-Free Phone System and 9-speaker BOSE audio system with iPOD connection.
Qashqai
The Qashqai is designed to add a new dimension to the small crossover utility segment – satisfying both the functional and emotional needs of customers. Nissan Qashqai is a bouquet of aggressive performance-oriented styling, powerful engine and driver-focused cockpit that shifts the way drivers think about small crossovers.
It is the ultimate choice for those who want a more dynamic design that is distinctively different providing the comfort and elegance of a sophisticated sedan with the status of an SUV. The top half has a sleek dynamic form with a distinctive shoulder line, which rises at the rear – a design cue similar to the Nissan Murano. The lower portion features large, pronounced wheel arches and a slightly elevated ground clearance.
Nissan Qashqai offers a choice of two and four-wheel drive with a 2.0-litre engine inline4 that produces 142hp at 5200 rpm, mated to an advanced CVT gearbox.
Xterra
The Nissan Xterra is equipped with a 4.0 litre V6 engine (DOHC, 24 valves), mated to five-speed automatic transmission, producing 291 hp at 5,600 rpm and 41.7 kg-m torque at 4,000 rpm.
Xterra’s highly capable 4WD system features a shift on the fly 4 Wheel Drive with 2 speed transfer case, which allows shifting between 2WD and 4H mode at speeds upto 100 kmph.
For severe off-road conditions, the system also features a 4LO with an impressive crawl ratio that includes dual speed off-roading situations providing a dynamic combination of technology for the serious off roader.
Navara
The long-body, Double-cab is available in 2WD or 4WD versions. The 2WD has a 2.5-litre, 4-cylinder, 16-valve petrol engine that turns out 162 hp at 5,200 rpm and 41 kg-m torque at 2,000 rpm. The 4WD is powered by a 2.5 litre turbo diesel that produces 171 hp at 4,000 rpm and has the same torque output.
The petrol version is coupled to 5-speed automatic transmission and the diesel to 6-speed manual.
They share the same features that include alloy wheels with 16-inch tyres, bedliner, power door locks, front fog lamps, 4-speaker audio system with CD player, power windows with driver window auto down, chrome door mirrors, dual power outside mirrors with LED turn signal lamps, keyless entry, chrome rear bumper, guard frame protector, and speed-sensing wipers.
Common safety features are dual airbags (driver and passenger) and anti-lock braking.
