On March 18, 2007, 17-year-old Sara Ghulam of Pickering, ON won the 2007 Miss World Canada title in Toronto out of 29 contestants. She is the youngest woman to win the Miss World Canada title. Ghulam, who also won the Talent Award, will now compete at the Miss World Competition in Poland this September with over 110 other national titleholders across the globe. Ghulam is in her final year of high school and is a talented vocalist, who hopes to work in the entertainment field. Ghulam comes from a family of Pakistani, Maltese and Scottish backgrounds. Ghulam is busy spending her year making appearances for charity and cultural events across Canada and the world.

On June 23, 2007, 24 year old Mahleej Sarkari won the 2007 Miss Pakistan World pageant held in Mississauga, Ontario. In addition to winning the title Sarkari, was voted Miss Congeniality by all the contestants. Hailing from Karachi, Mahleej came to Canada when she was 12 and hopes to throw some light upon the women of Pakistan and show the modern side of Pakistan to the community around the world. Sarkari is representing Pakistan and making appearances around Canada and the world. She is also set to represent Pakistan in international pageants in the coming months.
