The Automotive Technicians’ Choice Evaluation of Automotive Tools research asks full-time Automotive Technicians to rate automotive tools / products on various attributes and select the "best" brands based upon their professional experience.
"The Choice Awards are part of Frost & Sullivan’s global program to recognize outstanding companies who exhibit the best practices across key growth drivers," says Frost & Sullivan Chairman David Frigstad. "Our belief is that companies who excel will continue to grow and flourish."
Specifically, Frost & Sullivan asks Automotive Technicians to choose the "best" brands of hand tools, power tools, hand-held scan devices, and tool storage devices for the following attributes: Customer Service, Durability, Innovation, Quality, Product Selection & Availability, Value, and Warranty.
While Automotive Technicians may select any brand they deem as "best" for the various survey categories, generally the same automotive manufacturers are chosen year after year. Leading candidates – based upon past study results – include:
• Ingersoll Rand
• Mac Tools
• Milwaukee Electric
"Compared with the 2006 research, we have expanded this year’s research to include additional feature categories such as Durability, Product Selection & Availability, Value, and Warranty," says Frost & Sullivan’s Director of Competitive Benchmarking Services Tonya Fowler. "Thus, we expect to see some additional brands of automotive tools/devices appear in our results and are excited to see what the results will reveal."
The 2006 U.S. Automotive Technicians’ Choice Evaluation of Automotive Tools research resulted in the following brands being chosen as "best" for the following categories:
• Snap-on was voted the overall best brand for hand tools, hand-held scan devices, tool storage devices and customer service
• Ingersoll Rand was chosen as the overall best brand of power tools
