Illinois’ angel investors are converging on the Web, seeking new investment opportunities. A throng of local entrepreneurs has followed suit.
Illinois’ leading online business matching service, Funding-Illinois.com, has now registered over 100 entrepreneurs. The free Web service has also registered several angel investors, with access to $4,550,000 in available start-up capital.
“Illinois’ response to Funding-Illinois.com reflects the entrepreneurial spirit that is flooding the state,” said Brock Blake, CEO of FundingUniverse.com, Funding-Illinois.com’s parent company. “The flood has spurred growth for the local communities. We’re excited to be a part of it.”
Angels and entrepreneurs register on Funding-Illinois.com for free. Investors then review local business plans and contact the entrepreneurs that capture their attention.
Funding-Illinois.com is a member of the FundingUniverse.com family of sites that provide a similar matching service for entrepreneurs and angel investors in other states throughout the U.S. FundingUniverse.com has gathered an estimated $419 million in startup capital from angel investors across the country.
Funding-Illinois.com also provides the DealFlow Suite of services for organized angel groups. The service enables angel groups to draw from plans posted on the FunidngUniverse.com family of sites, discuss them online, and rate them as a group. In addition, angel groups may use the software to evaluate plans that have been submitted to them privately through Funding-Illinois.com.
