Boynton Beach, FL, United States, 2007/09/21 - WriteThrough, a unionized group of professional online communicators and organizers teams up with Prometheus Labor Communications in an effort to get local unions in the United States online - PrometheusLabor.com / WriteThrough.com.
When WriteThrough Communications set out to offer additional online services to local unions, labor-friendly organizations, and nonprofit groups, it chose to go with Prometheus Labor Communications for all of its web-based platforms.
"Prometheus, like us, are 100% unionized. They have a handle on the technology and firepower that the union movement needs to build out comprehensive online communities; which we specialize in. Teaming up with them was a very logical and strategical move on our part," said Richard Negri, president and founder of WriteThrough.
WriteThrough Communications are online organizers, web consultants, copywriters, and active bloggers. The group is the sole publisher of Union Review, an online publication of news and views of the union movement in the United States.
"When we took Union Review from its old online location to a Prometheus-driven platform we saw exponential growth in traffic. The community at Union Review went from 5,000 hits each day to nearly 20,000 a day 3 months later," Negri said.
With the advent of the Prometheus technology behind Union Review, the site recently announced that it can accept advertising and donations to keep it afloat. "This is critical for union sites," Negri said. "Unions need to know that they can easily have their websites funded by labor-friendly organizations that have a strong need to reach their memberships."
WriteThrough Communications (writethrough.com) has been in business since early 2001. The company started as the freelance DBA for writer and editor Richard Negri. Since then, Richard has fleshed out the small business to provide web services and web consultation to businesses, unions, and individuals who needed the fire power to communicate online. In addition to his copywriting and editing services, he now works as an online organizer for any union or nonprofit organization that seeks out a more concentrated effort in building its online community.
Negri is a dues-paying member of UAW Local 1981, National Writers Union.
