HandHeld Entertainment, Inc., a global digital entertainment company, today announced an agreement with Mojo Supreme that will allow HandHeld to provide entertaining and informative video clips from WatchMojo.com through HandHeld’s network of Web properties.
Launched in early 2006, WatchMojo.com will provide HandHeld automotive, travel, video game and lifestyle videos, including exclusive interviews and coverage of such high-profile events as fashion shows, red carpet interviews and exclusive parties. The agreement expands the list of professionally, produced digital Web TV content now available throughout HandHeld’s network of Web sites, providing additional advertising opportunities to brands seeking this medium to reach core demographics.
“WatchMojo.com, like HandHeld, goes beyond the online video world to be a presence in the growing mobile entertainment and out-of-home digital markets,” said Jeff Oscodar, president and CEO of HandHeld Entertainment. “Also, its professionally produced content has the look and feel of TV on the Web, which is very appealing to the growing number of advertisers moving online. It’s important to us as a company to offer a growing list of both premium and user-generated content for our users, and this agreement supports that goal.”
HandHeld’s network, which anticipates delivering nearly 3.5 billion page views by the end of 2007, will display the WatchMojo-branded video clips for free, ad-supported online viewing as streaming video or for purchase to download for playback on personal computers, HandHeld’s ZVUE™ MP3 Video Players and other personal media players (PMPs) that use Windows Media Player with digital rights management (DRM).
“HandHeld Entertainment’s network draws millions of viewers per month, making the company an obvious partner of WatchMojo.com,” said Ashkan Karbasfrooshan, president of WatchMojo.com. “As our goal is to consistently produce fresh and entertaining content for the Web and increase our Internet syndication network, we recognize the need to grow the number of viewers as well. HandHeld’s network of Web properties and ad-supported, streaming platform provide WatchMojo.com with complementary tools to globally distribute our original and syndicated content.”
HandHeld, which announced its plans to acquire eBaum’s World™ (eBaumsWorld.com) on August 2 (expected to close in October), is one of the world’s leading providers of online video entertainment, attracting 14 million to 19 million unique visitors per month, according to Google analytics. Together with its core demographic of 18-35 year-olds who frequent its network, HandHeld has quickly become a compelling advertising outlet for many brands seeking to reach a large and targeted audience.
Taken in concert, HandHeld’s network of Web sites offers premium music videos, anime features, television shows, movies, cartoons, independent films, documentaries, and news, entertainment and sports programs from companies such as Sony BMG, Showtime, IMG Media, Canadian Broadcast Corp. and National Lampoon, as well as free user-generated and user-submitted video selections and other forms of media. Customers can also select from millions of songs that can be played on a PMP through HandHeld Entertainment’s relationships with eMusic and Rhapsody.
