Harrisburg, PA, United States, 09/07/2007 - The 2007 summer interns at JPL Productions created a 30-second public service announcement for the national non-profit Parent Heart Watch.

Rewind, a 30-second public service announcement (PSA), encourages parents to routinely screen their children for undetected heart conditions. From concept to delivery, the six-member intern group had full control over the creation of the PSA.
“After our first meeting with Parent Heart Watch, we realized the need to produce a public service announcement creating awareness about sudden cardiac death. The Parent Heart Watch organization is very dedicated to its cause and we felt compelled to make a lasting impression. Each intern agreed with the initial Rewind concept, and from there, we put our creativity to work,” said e-Marketing Intern Krystina Blessing.
The finished PSA plays in reverse motion – a challenging technique for the interns to employ.
“The JPL interns were creative, professional and especially talented in their presentation of a thirty-second PSA that did exactly what we wanted it to do; deliver the shocking truth that sudden cardiac arrest happens anytime, anywhere and to anyone,” says Parent Heart Watch parent, Rachel Moyer.
Parent Heart Watch is a national organization created and operated by parents who have lost children to sudden cardiac death. Through education and awareness, Parent Heart Watch aims to reduce sudden cardiac arrest in children.
“Those of us that have lost a child because of sudden cardiac arrest know first hand the devastating impact of losing a child without warning. If the public sees Rewind they will hopefully see that cardiac screenings saves lives,” says Moyer.
