Women play a strong role in our society by bringing life into this world, nurturing people, and educating our society. The number of people affected by health issues such as ovarian and breast cancer, leukemia, and AIDS is continually increasing. But with the heightened awareness and involvement by organizations and corporations in support to end these deadly diseases, the tide is starting to change.
ZeVin Creations, a sister-owned business that produces handmade greeting cards, is one of these businesses which wants to heighten the awareness and help with the funding the race to find a cure. September embarks the launch of their newest card, “The Caring Woman”, just as we also recognize Ovarian and Leukemia Awareness Month. “The Caring Woman” falls within ZeVin's Celebrate Women collection and was inspired by a painting co-owner Maranda Miller did in her college years. The unique quality about “The Caring Woman” is that the background behind her silhouette will correlate with the specific color of an awareness month. At this current moment one can purchase a card in support of Leukemia, Ovarian Cancer, and Breast Cancer. They will be coming out with cards supporting AIDS and heart disease within the year. ZeVin Creations is going to donate 50% of the proceeds from the purchase of “The Caring Woman” series to the company's selected charitable organizations.
ZeVin will be donating the proceeds from the purple cards to co-owner, Marisa Babbage’s efforts to raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Marisa will be participating in the Nike Woman's Marathon on October 21st in San Francisco with the Kentucky & Southern Indiana Chapter of Team In Training, an organization which helps to bring awareness to Leukemia and other blood diseases. Marisa specifically selected TNT due to the sister's mother having a blood disease similar to Leukemia. The company will also be donating proceeds to the Harriet B. Porter Foundation, whom focuses on African Americans affected by cancer, with the purchase of any teal and pink cards.
In efforts to increase their impact of the fight for cures, ZeVin Creations, is also collaborating with other independent designers on the “Indie For Awareness” project which also kicked off during the month of September.
During this time of increased amounts of women being affected by deadly diseases, ZeVin Creations is showing their support with “The Caring Woman” card.
