By comparing crime stats for zones 1,2,3,4, and 5, we can see that there is less crime for zone 2, where security cams are in place in that zone, and police monitor cams.

The zone 2 police have credited this overall drop in crime to be from the cameras that have been installed in multiple locations, because they act as a preventative. These statistics prove that city cameras work to lower crime.

The Buckhead Alliance raised private funds to pay for these security cameras, which were installed by Stealth Security Services. This project was not government funded. The city residents and real estate owners acted on their own, and the police monitor the cameras by a police station located in the middle of the town square.

Stealth Security Services (stealthsecurityservices.com) proposed this same offer to other Atlanta Police Department Zones that would like to participate in this camera project and lower crime in the city of Atlanta. If cities want to lower crime in their area, they should consider embarking on their own camera and security project with in their city, and not wait on the government to fund it.
