Time Warner Cable, the nation’s second-largest cable television operator, today announced the addition of five additional channels to the lowest level of digital cable. Moving from the Variety, Movies and Sports Tiers are Fox Soccer, Fox Reality, ESPN Classic, and ESPN News. They remain on the same channel numbers. New to the line-up is the much anticipated ESPNU. ESPNU will be found on channel 137 in Western New York and channel 139 in Olean and Wellsville starting on August 30.

“Time Warner Cable is excited about providing our customers in Western New York with these great channels in the lowest level of digital cable,” stated Gordon Harp, Buffalo Division President, Time Warner Cable. “Further, the addition of ESPNU will give Time Warner Cable the chance to bring one of the most diverse college football schedules on television to our subscribers and will serve as a great compliment to the ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Classic, ESPN News and ABC lineup.”

ESPNU will showcase more than 70 live exclusive games beginning with the Orange Bowl champion Louisville home opener against Murray State Thursday, August 30 at 7:30 pm. ET. The network’s third college football season will include such notable programs as Florida State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami (FL), Iowa, Purdue, Central Michigan, Army, Navy, Alabama, A&M, Hampton, Illinois, Northwestern, Syracuse and more. In 2006, the network aired 67 exclusive college football games featuring 20 top 25 ranked teams.
