The fifth annual Miss Pakistan World took place in Toronto, Canada. Pakistani delegates from all around the world coming as far as Hong Kong participated. The 8 day pageant was buzzing with activities for the finalists. From a tour of Toronto downtown, to dinners and lunches at Toronto’s well known restaurants and a beautiful view of the Centre point islands in a boat cruise, the delegates enjoyed their time during the 8 days.
Miss Pakistan World pageant is one of a kind in the world and has gained a lot of support and popularity within the community. Amidst the glamour and entertainment, Mahleej Sarkari won the Miss Pakistan World 2007 title, followed by Nida Shaheen as Runner up 1, Nida Khan Runner up 2. Miss Photogenic was taken by Nida Shaheen, Miss Perfect 10 was taken by Nida Khan, Miss Congeniality was Mahleej Sarkari and Miss Talent was Bushra Jamil who also emerged as Runner up 4.
Mahleej Sarkari from Karachi Pakistan, at age 25 will be competing for the third largest pageant in the world: Miss Earth. This will be the third year Pakistan will be participating in the Miss Earth pageant. Other international pageants Pakistan has participated are Miss Tourism Queen International, Miss Bikini Universe, Miss Model of the World, World Miss University, Queen of the World and Miss Tourism Pageant. This year the commitment for international pageants will be reaching to a minimum number of ten international pageants.
Nida Shaheen 21 from Islamabad, Pakistan will be competing for the Miss Bikini Universe pageant and Nida Khan from Karachi, Pakistan for the Miss Model of the World pageant. Bushra Jamil from Karachi, Pakistan will be competing for the World Miss University pageant in Korea this year as well. All top five contestants will get an opportunity to compete internationally.
This year the organizers are crossing their fingers for a win, if not a title to bring back for Pakistan. To date Pakistan has achieved 5 international titles and is aiming for more.
