Walnut, CA, United States, 2007/07/12 - Global will be handling the security needs for the tour when they travel the world promoting their new album, Infinity on High - FallOutBoyRock.com.
Starting today, Marcus Johnson, owner and CEO of Global Entertainment Services, will be handling the personal security for the Fall Out Boy World Tour. Johnson was with the group when they recently performed at the Live Earth concert held at Giants Stadium to promote “being green”, over the past weekend. The group’s founder, Pete Wentz, believes in saving the environment for future generations. The group also performed a quick set on the Today Show on Friday July 6th, for one of the largest crowds in Today’s Summer Concert series.
“I’ve been traveling with tour groups for over 20 years and the Fall Out Boy group wanted someone with extensive worldwide experience,” said Johnson. “I met with the group last month and they wanted to make some personnel changes and decided to go with a company with international familiarity, such as Global Entertainment Services.”
The Fall Out Boy, (falloutboyrock.com), members describe themselves as “nerds” in the music industry. They hit the mainstream media with their smash song “Sugar, We’re Going Down” off their 2005 album From Under the Cork Tree which went on to grab a Grammy nomination in the Best New Artist category. The group is a MTV favorite which helped them garner a MTV Video Music Awards Viewers’ Choice award. Their latest album, double platinum Infinity on High, which debuted at the number 1 spot of the Billboard 200 chart in February, has all the pop-punk/emo-rock sounds that fans have grown accustomed to over the past few years. The tour will continue through the end of the year.
Global Entertainment Services is considered the Gold Standard within the entertainment industry’s security world. The company has worked with some of the biggest names in music and with various artists. Johnson has led security teams for Backstreet Boys, Fleetwood Mac, New Kids on the Block, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Jean Claude Van Dam, Michael Jackson to name a few. For over 20 years Johnson has offered complete security protection, estate protection, event security and body guard services for all clients, big or small.
“I recommended Marcus Johnson to take over the security details for the Fall Out Boy tour because I’ve known and worked with him for years and he is the best there is when it comes to complete protection,” said Bob Fontenot, the Director of Venue Security for the tour. “When you are looking for dedication and experience, Marcus and Global Entertainment is the ultimate package.”
