Scrapping 4 Inclusion Announces Partnership with Memory Makers Magazine

NewswireToday - /newswire/ - Calgary, Alberta, Canada, 07/10/2007 - Scrapping 4 Inclusion and Memory Makers Magazine form a partnership to benefit The Bubel/Aiken Foundation. The Foundation was co-founded by Clay Aiken & Diane Bubel in 2003 to serve children with special needs and the goal of inclusion for ALL.

Memory Makers Magazine and Scrapping 4 Inclusion are proud to announce a partnership benefiting The Bubel/Aiken Foundation (TBAF). For all magazine subscriptions sold through the Scrapping 4 Inclusion program Memory Makers will graciously donate 30% to TBAF.

Now those who scrapbook, those who want to learn about scrapbooking and those who don’t know anything about it yet can support the initiative and help the Foundation provide future inclusive programs for children with disabilities. People can subscribe for themselves or as a gift for someone else. All subscription orders through the Scrapping 4 Inclusion program count towards this partnership—including international orders.

Subscription orders can be made through links provided on the Scrapping 4 Inclusion and The Bubel/Aiken Foundation website or at the Scrapping 4 Inclusion fundraising crops. In the future, it is the goal to have this subscription link available on many other websites. If you would like to participate and help this new fundraising partnership grow by placing the link on your website, blog or in your emails.

MEMORY MAKERS features the ideas and stories of top creative crafters ‹ people who believe in keeping scrapbooks and the tradition of the family photo historian alive. Readers share their work and give their tips and secrets to create fresh new layouts every month. Through great scrapping content in each issue and at MemoryMakers.com, readers can collaborate on new ideas for a great community of fun and learning for all levels of scrap booking experience.

“As with all of F+W Publications scrapping resources, Memory Makers supports community-driven events and the building of lifelong memories. The Scrapping 4 Inclusion fundraiser is a great way to support The Bubel/Aiken Foundation and scrapping enthusiasts. Through the S4I scrapbook crops that directly benefit TBAF, Scrapping 4 Inclusion helps The Bubel/Aiken Foundation to sponsor great initiatives in the lives of children of all abilities.” -Melody Chamlee, Producer, F+W Publications.

Scrapping 4 Inclusion is the only awareness and fundraising initiative of its kind where communities across the USA are joining together as one to give ALL children the opportunity to learn, live, and play together. Scrapping 4 Inclusion events across the country benefit TBAF.

“I am excited about the possibilities of Scrapping 4 Inclusion. Through doing something that people love, people have the opportunity to find out about the need for inclusion. It gives us the opportunity to build our presence in local communities and inspire people to make a difference in the lives of children with developmental disabilities.” Clay Aiken, Co-Founder of TBAF.

“We at TBAF always get excited when people are able to learn about our mission and the message of inclusion. For people to be able to hear about it while they are participating in one of their hobbies is a great bonus. Like Wrapping for Inclusion before it, Scrapping for Inclusion has an incredible opportunity to make a nationwide impact.” Kristy Barnes, Director Marketing and Operations.

“I never really thought that one small idea could turn into something so powerful. Every single day I am amazed that so many people are working together to really make a difference; that someone, somewhere is talking about the importance of inclusion and helping to educate others. Every day we take a step forward towards the same goal of creating awareness and raising funds for TBAF so that more inclusive programs can be implemented in communities across the country.” says Laurie Weishar, founder of Scrapping 4 Inclusion.

With a long term goal of having fundraising crops in 250 US cities, we are well on our way with over 50 locations actively planning their local event. If you are interested in getting involved, we are always looking for additional volunteers to plan events in their own community. You do not need to be a scrapbooker to get involved; you only need the desire to help. The more volunteers involved the more voices there are to raise awareness.

About Scrapping 4 Inclusion
Scrapping 4 Inclusion is an awareness and fundraising campaign where Volunteers across the USA will organize a Scrapbooking Crop in their community. A Scrapping 4 Inclusion Crop can be customized by each Organizer to fit with what they are personally able to manage and what the market in their community will bare. The program has been designed to make it as flexible and simple as possible to plan. Although the program is still in the early stages it’s exciting to be at the start of something that has the potential to be GREAT! Doesn’t that just make you want to get in at the beginning and be part of making this the biggest national initiative out there.

About The Bubel/Aiken Foundation
The Foundation provides services and financial assistance to promote the full integration of children with disabilities into the life environment of those without. The Foundation strives to create awareness about the diversity of individuals with disabilities and the possibilities that inclusion can bring. A step in the right direction, even if a small step, brings us closer to our goal. All children deserve to experience the fullness of a life lived without boundaries. Eliminating the stereotypes that have long been associated with physical and mental disability is the first step to erasing lines that divide us.

The mission of The Bubel/Aiken Foundation is creating communities where ALL children can learn, live, and play together.
