The High Country Stampede Rodeo Series is back in action in Winter Park, CO for its 24th year. Starting July 7th, rodeo enthusiasts can attend one or all of eight rodeos scheduled every Saturday night throughout July and August. This Saturday night summer event classic draws an average of 700 visitors who enjoy a variety of rodeo events, including bull riding, barrel racing, calf roping, mutton busting and much more. Youth are also encouraged to participate in the Junior Rodeo events, with different age levels competing in events like goat tying, team roping, and barrels. In addition to the various activities, rodeo fans will enjoy the Stampede's famous barbeque, with everything from baked cowboy beans to t-bone steaks.
In addition to the Rodeo events, a Junior Art Show and Competition is held for youth ages 5-14, and are put on display for judging.
The rodeo is held in the John Work Arena, one mile west of the town of Fraser. The Junior Rodeo begins at 4:00 pm, and the Open Rodeo begins at 7:00 pm. Ticket prices are $10 for adults, $8 for kids and seniors. Entry prices vary for the different events, and are open to local and regional competitors.
