A recent survey of 500 FSBO real estate sellers from around the nation reveals that 62% will never use the services a full commissioned agent, according to a survey done by FSBO Channels™. The survey further disclosed that 60% of those surveyed said they would however consider using the services of an agent who offered a “fee for service” agent offering ala Carte services.
The FSBO Channels™ survey found that the number one reason for sellers not to using an agent was their 6% commissions. Many of these same sellers indicated that they would use the services of a discount agent / broker if it was offered. Many state laws however prohibit an agent or broker to offer any discounted commission.
The number of home sellers opting to go the “For Sale by Owner” route has seen triple digit annual increases in many markets across the nation. This growth of FSBO sellers has resulted in the emergence of hundreds of FSBO real estate websites offering these sellers internet advertising of their listings.
