Vignette today announced that Southern Sun Hotels (Pty) Ltd, the leading hotel group in South Africa, has revamped its website using Vignette's market-leading Next-Generation Web solution software in order to build customer loyalty and drive online bookings for the company. Since the relaunch of the site in June 2006 the number of visitors has increased significantly as has the number of bookings taken online.
The website refresh was part of Southern Sun's overall re-branding and focused channel strategy where the company wanted the website to reflect the new branding, and deliver greater flexibility in content delivery to its customers. Vignette and its global partner Tata Consultancy Services, won a competitive tender for the project, and following a 9-month development period the website went live.
The Vignette Next-Generation Web solution enables Southern Sun to provide existing and potential customers with a redesigned, more content rich and dynamic website that allows them to access regularly updated information on each hotel and the ability to book and review accommodation reservations online.
The new system provides Southern Sun with the capability to update content on the site, as and when needed, without having to rely on an IT team. Details of special offers, photos, local attractions and events can all be updated for each business area, while retaining the consistency of the overall branding of the site.
