Facing growing demand abroad and at home for safer food, China is overhauling its food system to meet international food safety standards and prevent further accidents on consumer products. Recently, China's food and drug watchdog and its commerce ministry issued a notice urging local governments to intensify supervision of rural produce and strengthen the crackdown on fake or bad-quality food.
As a result, the cold chain of temperature-sensitive products will grow more complex, regulatory authorities will be stricter, as product life-cycles are decreasing and local authorities are enforcing temperature monitoring, warehousing and the conditions of transporting goods.
