Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, 05/28/2007 - Gemini Communication Ltd (GCL), a Chennai based leader in Communications & Networking solutions and pioneers in the field of System Integration, has posted a Profit After Tax (consolidated) of Rs 18.08 Cr for the year ended March 31, 2007 (FY07).

Gemini Communication Ltd (GCL), has posted a Profit After Tax (consolidated) of Rs 18.08 Cr for the year ended March 31, 2007 (FY07) from Rs 11.74 Cr in the financial year 2005-2006 (FY06). In effect the company registering an increase of 54% over FY06. The company also posted an EPS of Rs.20.62 FY07 as against EPS of Rs. 13.40 pertaining to the previous year.
Gemini registered an impressive 52% in the post tax profit of Rs.7.66 Crores for the quarter ending 31.3.2007 as against Rs.5.02 crores for the corresponding period of the previous quarter.
The total income grew 28 percent to 162.14 Crores for the year ended 31.3.2007 from 126.51 crores compared to the figures of the previous year.
The Board of Directors at its meeting had recommended a dividend of 20% on the paid up equity shares of the company.
Commenting on the performance, Vijay Kumar, Managing Director Gemini Communication Ltd., said, “We have recorded substantial growth for the year. We are now poised for greater growth. With orders already in hand to the tune of over Rs 175 crore we at Gemini expect to grow at 50% levels in the coming year too. Our RFID and Point Red businesses should contribute additional to this revenue.”
The company’s subsidiaries Gemini Traze RFID and Point Red business started contributing to the overall growth and is expected to bring in good profits for the financial year 2007-2008.
During the fourth quarter, Gemini had bagged a prestigious order worth Rs.75 Crore from TNEB for computerization of 1821collection centers under BEST (Billing for Essential Services in TNEB) scheme. With this project TNEB will computerize all their collection centers spread across Tamil Nadu.
