SolidCAD has provided sales and service of OPEN MIND’s hyperMILL product in eastern Canada for over 10 years.
The meeting included over 40 representatives from OPEN MIND dealers in Europe, Asia, and the Americas, and they interacted with numerous headquarters personnel.
OPEN MIND Technologies USA Inc has offices across the United States and provides both direct and dealer sales and services to its customers and partners in North and South America. Dealers either have geographic purpose or have strong experience with some of OPEN MIND’s integrated platforms.
SolidCAD results have grown steadily since 2004 when OPEN MIND reorganized its American operations and invested additional resources to support SolidCAD and the Canadian market. In return, SolidCAD has expanded its operations and has added focus to manufacturing technology. In 2006, SolidCAD orders to OPEN MIND Technologies USA represented approximately 20% of the OPEN MIND’s American revenue.
Dan Munteanu, senior product specialist for SolidCAD CAM applications, received the award and commendation on behalf of SolidCAD during the Dealer Symposium.
SolidCAD as an OPEN MIND Dealer
SolidCAD has been an OPEN MIND dealer for over 10 years. They have 4 offices in greater Toronto, and recently expanded into Ottawa to support this region and Quebec province. They also have strong expertise in think3 and Autodesk products, providing additional value for OPEN MIND’s integrated solutions into these CAD environments.
SolidCAD manages most OPEN MIND accounts in this region, including large accounts such as Tycos Tool and Die that have standardized on think3 for design and OPEN MIND for manufacturing technologies.

hyperMILL Application Areas
SolidCAD customers use hyperMILL for traditional automotive applications such as mould and die, and tooling. Recent applications have expanded into aerospace, turbomachinery, and medical components. SolidCAD provides strong technical support and training to users, and is supported by OPEN MIND Technologies USA engineering and support staff.
hyperMILL is a broad-based CAM software that covers 2.5D through 5-axis milling and drilling. The software also has strong Feature recognition and technology, as well as process macro support to add intelligence to CAD data and to allow users to capture and re-use best practices. OPEN MIND provides technology-leading 5-axis solutions, with extensive, practical strategies that allow manufacturing engineers and operators to enable their desired solutions. Additional dedicated solutions exist for selected applications such as multi-blade and single-blade turbomachinery, tire moulds, and cylinder heads.
