Looking to spice up the palates of hungry patrons with a love for great tasting chicken wings, Wingstop Restaurants, Inc. opened its first Palmdale, Calif. location on Sept. 14.
Steve Tucker, owner of GIMJ Investment Group II LLC, opened the location across from the Stater Brothers Shopping Center at 2551 E. Avenue S., Suite L (corner of 25th St. East and Avenue S). This is Tucker’s first of four Wingstop restaurants planned for the Antelope Valley. His second location will soon be under construction in east Lancaster at 20th East and Avenue J, across from Wal-Mart.
“Palmdale is a great location for a Wingstop,” said Tucker. “Our first week sales were double their projections and our customers rave about the freshness of the wings. There’s nothing out there like Wingstop.”
In addition to in-store and carry out sales, Wingstop has scored big with their party platters.
“Wingstop was my first choice to cater my party, and the hot wings just flew off the table," said Sandy Corrales, Palmdale School Board President and Wingstop customer.
The new Wingstop is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to midnight. Guests can either dine in or carry out orders. Orders can be phoned in to the east Palmdale location at (661) 266-9464.
Wingstop offers restaurants with a nostalgic, aviation-themed atmosphere where the sole focus is on chicken wings. The chain features nine proprietary wing flavors, including Original Hot, Cajun, Atomic, Mild, Teriyaki, Lemon Pepper, Hawaiian, Garlic Parmesan, and our brand new Hickory Smoked BBQ. The wings are always made-to-order and served steaming hot. Customers also choose from homemade side dishes: fresh-cut seasoned fries, bourbon baked beans, pearl potato salad, creamy cole slaw, vegetable sticks, rolls and assorted dipping sauces.
Wingstop has more than 400 restaurants either open or under development in 25 states and consistently tops industry growth rankings. In 2004, Wingstop was ranked the number one chicken wing chain by Entrepreneur magazine and number four in Restaurants & Institutions’ Top 400 Sales-Growth Leaders (the only wing chain in the top ten). In July 2005, Wingstop ranked number 13 in Restaurant Business’ Top 50 Growth Chains (ranked by percentage increase in units). Troy Aikman, former Dallas Cowboy and three-time Super Bowl champion, signed on as the chain’s national spokesman in 2003.
