International Association of Outsourcing Professionals has announced the list of world leaders and 10 fast growing outsourcing companies. On April 30th the print version of a special feature on Global Outsourcing 100 Listings (IAOP) was published in FORTUNE 500 issue of the FORTUNE® magazine. The main revealed industry trend is unbridled growth in revenues and employment, significant role of IT outsourcing (56% of the companies listed) and high level of productivity.
Global Outsourcing 100 listings are useful reference guides for companies developing their business with benefits of outsourcing deals. At the same time it’s a shot of the whole industry and its particular areas such as product research, CRM, HR, information and communications technology management and others.
The listings are ranked according to 18 criteria, including revenue, growth, the number of employees, the skills and training of their workforce, the number of technical and business certifications they have secured (such as ISO 9001), the track record of the management team, and the quality of customer service.
Patricia J. Moser-Stern, President of i3 advantage inc., an experienced and well-known consultant, has commented as follows on the list: "First of all this is a mix of different types of outsourcers: from health services to operations and maintenance to technology and call centers, so comparisons are difficult to make. When looking at the strengths that the firms listed have referenced, if a company has as its strengths customer testimonials, executive leadership, methodologies/ innovation - to a potential buyer of services, these are much more important than things such as size".
Ms. Moser-Stern believes that Itransition should congratulate itself on being a "rising star" on this list as she notes that it is an indicator for who will become the major players in the outsourcing markets in the future. "Buyers will often look seriously at "rising stars" as potential business partners, as this status usually means that a firm is very focused on customer service and quality, without the costs associated with larger, more established firms".
The great role in listings development belongs to the evaluation team. The professional approach of the evaluation jury which teamed up world-renowned outsourcing experts with executive-level experience in customer, provider, and advisor companies resulted in unbiased scores and recommendations for candidates on further improvements of their services.
