One of the many facets of an effective leader is caring for your employees. Show your employees you value them through leading by example. Be the leader who commits to improving the quality of life for your employees, their families and our community. Who knows? The life saved/impacted could very well be your own, says Obina.
Did You Know?
• Out of the 300,000 heart attacks suffered each year, half are fatal
• 80,000 of these are sudden cardiac arrests with 70 percent occurring outside of hospitals
• With every minute that passes, you have a 10 percent less chance of survival without CPR
• By the time you have read this, you’ll have two minutes left to prevent a death!
Within the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s (OSHA) Medical services and first aid regulations for employers, it states, “In the absence of an infirmary, clinic or hospital in near proximity (three-five minutes) to the workplace which is used for the treatment of all injured employees, a person or persons shall be adequately trained to render first aid.
Employers should provide medical services and first aid that are most appropriate to respond to incidents at their workplaces.
All staff should be trained and certified in CPR, first aid, operating a defibrillator and other life-saving techniques. In case of a medical emergency, staff must be prepared to describe their location to emergency personnel (address, building name, location of nearest entrance and room number, if applicable) and to assist them, if necessary. To ensure compliance, post this information by telephones and exits. Review CPR and emergency techniques monthly to help your staff become better prepared in case of a medical crisis.
The responsibility of safety management is shared by all our professionals in order to ensure the care and well-being of our clients is met.
Best of all, we come to you. We are here to help our community “Save One Life At A Time.”
