Sarasota, FL, United States, 04/13/2007 - Until the previous uranium cycle ended in the 1980s, Juniper Ridge had reportedly been the site of 12 small open-pit uranium mines. Many in the industry had called it the ‘best uranium discovery in southern Wyoming.’.

Yellowcake Mining director Dr. Robert Rich told StockInterview, “I think it (Juniper Ridge) has potential to become a medium-size producer – maybe a couple million pounds a year. The mineralization is not all that deep.”
According to those familiar with the property in southern Wyoming, called Juniper Ridge, it is a near surface deposit with uranium mineralization starting at the surface and running a few hundred feet to depth. The property was discovered by picking up rocks at surface with a Geiger counter. Until the previous uranium cycle ended in the 1980s, Juniper Ridge had reportedly been the site of 12 small open-pit uranium mines. Many in the industry had called it the ‘best uranium discovery in southern Wyoming.’
“I had looked at Juniper Ridge in the late 1970s and early 1980s when it was owned by Urangesellschaft (UG), a German company,” Dr. Rich told StockInterview. “At the time there were still fresh open cuts from previous open pit mining there. There was a bit of uranium produced during the last market cycle of uranium, but I was impressed with the potential for it to become a much bigger operation.”
