Sterilex Corporation has obtained EPA approval to kill Zygosaccharomyces bailii, a yeast spoilage organism found commonly in the winery environment where it can cause turbidity and the release of carbon dioxide gas. It also causes spoilage in a variety of applications including the production of fruit concentrates and juices, jams, jellies and preserves, ketchup, salad dressings, and relishes and pickles.
